Our 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath, 2,700 square foot home is located at Purgatory Resort and is 24 miles from downtown Durango (less than 30 minute drive). Enjoy the convenience of being at the ski resort, yet have the privacy and additional space of a house with a 2 car garage. The resort is both an amazing winter playground, and offers a wealth of all your favorite mountain activities in a cool and comfortable summer climate at 8,900 feet in elevation. For ease, there is a free on-demand shuttle to the ski resort.

The house features an open floor plan, gas fireplace, cathedral ceilings, high end appliances and great outdoor space including a gas fire pit, outdoor seating and a gas BBQ. There is also a ping pong table in the garage and shuffle board in the Loft. The home is located near the Purgatory Flats trail head, one of the finest and most scenic hikes in the area as well as a pond for fishing and in winter, there is a cross country ski trail right out the back door and Purgatory Lake is next to the property offering fishing and paddle boarding etc.

Bed Configuration (All bedrooms have attached bathrooms):
Master Bedroom - King Bed with TV (2nd Floor)
2nd Master - King Bed with TV (Main Floor)
3rd Bedroom - Queen Bed with TV (2nd Floor)
4th Bedroom - Queen Bed and 2 day beds with trundle (4 Twins)

The home is pet friendly (2 pet max) and the pet fee is $40/day (Max $250).

Book 7+ nights and a 10% discount is automatically applied.

For an optional 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. When booking, just advise if you would like the extra 4% resort fee added.

Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding, etc) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours, etc) activities.

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer
travel insurance.

Purgatory family weekend

Had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. Very conveniently located, across from Purgatory, it had everything we could have needed. The home was very clean, everything worked well. The only exception was a small issue with the microwave fan. Definitely would stay here again.

Family Ski Trip

We had a great experience at this house. We had family of 5 + 2 grandparents at the house. It was the perfect accommodation for all of us. We would rent the house again. The location was perfect for skiing at Purgatory. As a bonus, we think the house must have the best view of Engineer mountain in the neighborhood!

Perfect size home in perfect location

We had an excellent experience here. It’s walking distance to the lifts But an even quicker drive. The house was well appointed and perfect for 3 families with 5 kids combined. Would definitely recommend and stay here again! We chose to pay the resort fee for access to the hot tub but discovered it’s really not all that close/convenient, so if you’re on the fence, I would say skip it.

Family Fun

A wonderful time with all the family. Plenty of room to hang out and sleep. The grandkids even built an igloo in the backyard. When we received a foot of snow the night before we left, it was a treat to have the trucks early the next morning cleaning the roads and driveways.

Clean, Quite & Cozy

This cabin exceeded our expectations on every level. My wife and I stayed there with our 12 year old girls and Labradoodles and we ALL loved it. It was immaculate, spacious, nicely decorated and very close to the Ski Village. We had fun playing in the snow in the huge backyard. It was conveniently located to the main entrance of the Resort. We feel very happy to have found this gem and will go back for sure!

Great for the family

So beautiful, loved our time here

We stayed a whole month here during COVID times, and such a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and so well appointed, and we were more than comfortable. The setting is gorgeous, with easy access to all things in the San Juan mountains.

The rental company was super responsive and helpful, and I would absolutely stay here again. We were sad to leave!

Awesome Summer Vacation!

This rental was perfect for our family! Very comfortable and clean - and provided awesome views! We were able access hiking, horseback riding, kayaking on a lake, and many other activities right from the rental. The kitchen, rooms and back porch provided great memories for us! The only regret is we couldn’t stay longer!! (Due to our schedules - LOL)

Awesome Family Vacation!

Perfect time of year to visit! We all had a great time! Everything at 48 Penstock Court was more than anyone could ever ask for. The beautiful home had all that we needed and beyond. We felt like we were at home and we certainly didn’t want to leave. But, we all have to face reality! Ha!

This home is excellent for a large group and the pictures do not do it justice! Absolutely incredible and the neighborhood is located across for Purgatory! TRuly a one of a kind and free ski shuttle access! Plus, there are multiple homes by this group in the neighborhood so they can accommodate all sizes! Excellent customer service!!

Fabulous Location

We stayed at this home and the home next door with a group of families for Spring Break. Both houses worked great for us. The location is unbeatable. Right across the highway from the lifts, but still on a quite cul-de-sac. The houses were very clean, the views are fantastic, and both houses had all the amenities we needed. The included shuttle service to and from Purgatory was very convenient. You just call the dispatch and within minutes, a bus shows up to take you right to the Village Plaza. The property manager was also very prompt to answer all my questions. We had so much fun, we may book the same houses for next year.
