A quiet western town with charismatic energy – Ridgway is a way of life. The town was founded in 1890 as the headquarters of the world famous Rio Grande Southern narrow gauge railroad serving the area’s rich silver and gold mines, ranches and farms. Today the railroad is gone, but its memories remain at the acclaimed Ridgway Railroad Museum. The ranches still dot the valley, preserving open space so special to the area. There is also an amazing wildlife presence throughout the region. Most famous are the bald eagles which nest in the cottonwoods along the Uncompaghre River.

Ridgway, as a designated Creative Arts District, is also known for it’s vigorous arts community. The town boasts a new concert stage in Hartwell Park which is home to the summer outdoor Concert Series. In addition, the newly restored Sherbino Theater offers music, movies and much more. Several studios, galleries, and sculptures are here to discover. Dozens of one of a kind, family-owned shops and several award-winning restaurants plus a local brewery and a distillery make this an exciting place to settle in and spend some time.

First off, this is my 5th rental using HomeAway. All have been just great! This was no exception!
I first want to say that Premier Vacation Rentals is great to work with! Patient, Professional and Quick to reply! They had several properties that I went back and forth with them on and I cannot say enough about the service! I sent emails, texts, and phone calls, and they all were answered quickly!
We rented this unit with another family, 8 of us, 2 couples, both with 2 boys each, aging 10 to 15 years old. The unit was better than expected ! We decided we needed 3 baths with the 8 of us and this place fit the bill for budget and needs! We stayed 7 nights. PVR lined us out with all paperwork, instructions, etc. Everything went down without a hitch!!
The unit is well appointed, roomy enough and fit the 8 of us very well. I have been to the area of Durango/Silverton and Ouray several times. Always enjoy going back and that part of the vacation also went well and weather cooperated with us.
We first were going to do a condo across the street at the Resort with PVR but then looked over his other properties. This unit is across the street from the Resort and the area was very quiet. You get a 2 car garage so parking is not a problem! I have stayed on upper floors before and even at high altitudes rooms get hot. This place has ceiling fans in all rooms! It almost 9000 feet and cools off nicely for sleeping. No problem even during the day!
If I were a skier and not wanting to be in the thick of things but close to the slopes along with covered parking, this would be a great place to grab!
The Master Bedroom is roomy with gas fireplace, walk in closet, and a very nice bath!!
The boys fished the lake just down the street and we got the passes from Keith for the Lodge at the Resort for the Pool, Hot Tub and Gym. There is a small store with gas down 550 a couple miles for quick items and surprised the gas was cheap considering the area.
Both families had no complaints! Coming back to this area, the first call goes to Premier Vacation Rentals!!
Thanks so much for our “Epic Vacation”!
